2004-12-20

China National Bluestar Corporation has started construction of a new organic silicon project, the biggest of its kind in Asia, in east China's Jiangxi Province.

With an investment of 1.036 billion yuan (about 125 million US dollars), the project has an annual output of 100,000 tons of organic silicon, an important chemical that is widely used in various industries.

The project, to be built in Jiujiang city of the province, is expected to go into operation in May 2006.

The corporation has already had two organic silicon production plants in Jiangxi, with annual outputs of 20,000 and 50,000 tons respectively.
